Pop Singer Tyla recently graced Prelude to the 2024 Olympic Games event at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris and she turned heads in this outfit reminiscent of youthful pop stars in the early 2000s. Still the temperature was hot, summer and she was dressed head to toe in black velvet, with the Louis Vuitton damier print all over it, she wore a jacket zipped only till her belly line, paired it with low rise, very loose bottoms that were tight only at the ankles.
It’s a Velvet Tracksuit with that Louis Vuitton Flair
Nevertheless, Tyla in black velvet clothes from head to toe, which could be used by the performers of the nineties, such as the Spice Girls who did not discard the material even in the summer. She chose a provocative attire which included an unzipped velvet jacket in the Louis Vuitton damier print with a glimpse of her midriff and under boob in a black bra tied with gold glistening chains.
For bottom wear, she wore a pair of dark baggy velvet track pant with low slung and the Louis Vuitton print was printed on it and had a tapered end at the ankle. To spice up the sporty look a little more, she complemented it with pointed stilettos with black material and an accent golden toe cap.
Glitzy Y2K Accessories
As with any make-over, those accessories are necessary to complete the 2000s popstar look. Tyla’s gold chains adorned bra brought in the initial glimmer. She also wore a shiny gold belt that hung low around her hips, a gold hoop choker with a large LV damier emblem dangling from it and navel piercing which of course are essentials for any woman in the year 2000.
Evidently borrowing a style from the MTV Video Music Awards lookbook, Tyla’s stomach was as exposed as could be thanks to a black bra that was decorated with gold chains which was found under her partly opened jacket. Finally she continued the revealing theme and posed with a sensual glimpse of her tummy showing below the top of her breast line. Symmetrical golden loops on the bra she wore alongside a gold chain belt that was worn around her hips added more Y2K touches to the sporty tracksuit look.
It was good to see Tyla still adding layers of 1999 critiques as if it were still the year. Around her neck was a high choker with big gold hoops connecting to a large damier pendant. Not one to skip a beat on overdoing things, she also had what was popular at that time – a navel piercing. Accompanying this was her bouffant of blonde hair and dark outlines on her lips to complete the nostalgic trip.
With the velvet tracksuit, golden chains, the half-undone shirt which revealed her tummy, and numerous accessories, Tyla was in sync with early 2000s pop star vibe at an Olympic warm-up show. Her glamour, rock ‘n roll style was far more interesting than the typical athletic wear than that of her contemporary brands. Will crop tops and lip liner be back as popular trends again, during the 2024 Olympics all because of Tyla? Only time will tell but that singer reinvented Y2K era fashion all by herself tonight in Paris.
As much as the Olympics are meant to be a prestigious event showcasing the world’s best athletes, it turns out that style and music can also have their moment at the games as Tyla successfully demonstrated. Her glam inspired by Y2K trends was equally amazing and still retained the essence of the current fashion trends. Tyla’s reestablishment of pop icons of the past was a clear gold, silver, bronze performance in commemorating the beginning of the lead-up to the 2024 Olympics.
